Homemade Raw Apple Chips

A dehydrator can be used in raw food preparation. It dries food at low temperatures, to remove the water content, but keeps the enzymes, vitamins and minerals in place, so they are still highly nutritious. Dehydrating food helps to preserve it so it can have a longer shelf life. We decided to try some apple chips with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Apples aid to prevent the clogging of arteries and cinnamon has anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-parasetic properties. We don't have a dehydrator so we used our oven at low temperature, about 130 F.* We flipped the apple slices after an hour or so and then continued to 'dehydrate' for another hour. The results appeared successful! They tasted amazing! If you like chips, consider a raw healthy version of your favorite snack, it's worth your time and effort. We sat and watched a movie while this was done so there's no need to feel that you don't have the time to make a healthy snack.

*It is recommend that you leave the oven door open for air circulation. Drying time may increase to about 4-6 hours.
Don't forget to hydrate yourself accordingly when eating dehydrated foods!
